GRADING

We take the guess work out of collecting. Each watch that arrives at our facility is carefully inspected by one of our nearly 40 master watchmakers. We review every component of your watch and give it a score based on its authenticity and condition, resulting in an overall score for the watch itself. The process is meticulously photographed and documented before the watch is sealed and returned to its owner. We do not buy or sell watches ourselves, which allows us to offer the most thorough and impartial evaluation of your piece possible. We are fully dedicated to providing you with the very best information possible about your watch.

GRADING CRITERIA

TGS looks at every component of your watch in order to give you the most detailed, accurate evaluation possible. Each element is assessed and receives a score from 1-10. Because a scratch on the crystal, for example, is not as significant as a scratch on the dial, the component scores are entered into a weighted formula that determines the overall score for the watch.

  • Dial
  • Hands
  • Movement
  • Lugs
  • Crown
  • Pushers
  • Bezel
  • Case back
  • Complications
  • Bracelet/Strap
  • Crystal
  • Originality
